MBAE Brings on New Director of Policy
January 12, 2022Raising the high school graduation standard
May 5, 2022MBAE Director Emerson Foster is a true model for civic leadership and business engagement and investment in efforts that serve both our most vulnerable community members and the needs of our growing economy.
As Head of Human Resources, US Business Unit at Takeda, hardly anyone could be better placed to witness the talent pipeline challenges that accompany the rapid growth of MA’s life sciences sector. Where will we find enough job candidates to fuel this boom? How do we ensure Massachusetts students graduate with the skills to meet the demands of these 21st Century jobs? And, critically, how do we help businesses meet their #diversity goals by ensuring opportunities and outcomes reach our most chronically under-resourced students?
To tackle those challenges head on, we are proud to announce that Emerson will take the helm of a new initiative, the MBAE Equity Committee. Rather than develop a new set of policy priorities focused on incorporating diversity and inclusion, Emerson and his colleagues will help MBAE better understand and communicate how equity is the primary lens through which we view all of our work.
In addition to his work for MBAE, Emerson is also a founding board member of Bottom Line, as well as the founder of Men and Women of Action and The Boston Men’s Dinner Group.
