
In the 2020-2021 school year, just 5.8% of Massachusetts high school students were enrolled in a computer science course, urban schools were less likely to offer computer science than suburban and rural schools, and only 28.4% of students enrolled in a computer science course are female. Computer science is a critical area of study that can create pathways to good jobs that pay family-sustaining wages.
